Barendrecht- The die is cast: We are happy and proud to announce that Nigel Melker will race in the GP2 series in 2012. He will race for the Portuguese team of Ocean Racing Technology, managed by former formula 1 race-driver Tiago Monteiro. After various tests for different teams last fall Ocean could offer the best package and the contract could be signed soon..

The fast Dutchman is happy with his contract and the fact he can race in the GP2 series next year. Now, I can completely focus on next season. Of course, I will have to gain the necessary experience, but this class will give me the opportunity to show my talent and race fast, Nigel said. Again, it promises to become a fantastic season in the most spectacular class of the moment. Who will become Nigel's team mate next year is still unknown, but will be announced soon.
